In 1988, for the first time, ÍsBú worked as consultants in Chile's fish processing industry. There the company gave consult both in land processing and on-board processing. ÍsBú has ever since maintained its power in the Consultancy services around the world, mainly in the food and fish processing industry, fisheries, and relating to building new vessels. 


In the period of 1992-1997, ÍsBú worked as consultants in Kamchatka's fish processing industry. During 1995-1997, ÍsBú had started up its own fish processing company in China. In 1997, ÍsBú founded its own dry-fish processing company in Iceland. In 2004, together with other Icelanders, ÍsBú established its own fish processing company in west Iceland.
